Town Hall is considered as the first Town Hall of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Sri Kandukuri Veeresalingam Pantulu built this Town Hall in 1891 with his own resources. This place houses a library, which was visited by many national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore, Bipinchandra Pal and Subhash Chandra Bose.
Iskcon Temple, popularly known as Gowthami Ghat, is a recreational centre and is among the popular tourist attractions in Rajahmundry. After the Iskcon of Bangalore, it is considered as the second largest Iskcon temple in southern region, which covers an area of about 2 acres. The temple is built on the banks of Godavari River by the Iskcon group.
It is believed that many rishis have performed tapasya at this temple. The temple is also known as Ramananda Raya Gaudiya Math as Lord Sri Chaitanya and Ramananda Raya exchanged words at this site. Idols of Sri Sri Radha Gopinath, Subhadra Devi, Sri Sri Govinda Srinivasa, Sri Sri Jaganath Baladeva, Sri Sri Krishna Chaitanya and Prabhu Nityananda are housed in the temple.
History states that around 500 years ago, Shri Krishna Chaitanya Maha Prabhu was worshipped as the incarnation of Lord Shri Krishna. He is also considered as the first saint to start the movement of ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’ sankeerthana
Ryali is situated around 25 km from Rajahmundry in the eastern region of Godavari District. It is also known as Konaseema, which is a well irrigated place because of number of tributaries of Godavari River.
The main attraction of this place is Jaganmohini Kesavaswami Temple. It is believed that in ancient times, this place was a forest. A small temple was built by King Vikrama Deva, ruler of Chola Dynasty, which was reconstructed later.
The temple preserves the deity of Jaganmohini Kesavaswami, which is built in a single stone with a height of 5 ft and width measuring 3 ft. The idol has a deity of Lord Vishnu on one side and Mohini on the other.
Ryali means ‘fall’ in the Telugu and according to mythology, when Lord Vishnu made a false appearance of Mohini to get the Amrutam, a flower fell from her hair. Due to this incident, the place came to be known as Ryali
Alcot Gardens was named after Mr. Alcot, who was the leader of Divya Gyana Samaj. The site was used for conducting various assemblies and meetings of this samaj. The garden is popular among tourists and natives as a picnic spot.
Pattiseema is one of the beautiful places, located around 40 km from Rajahmundry and is a popular among Indian film makers. The major attraction of this place is Shri Veerabhadra Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located on a hill in the centre of the Godavari River. The temple has a huge sculpture of Goddess Bhadrakali wearing many ornaments and a sword.
Apart from this, Pattiseema is home to another beautiful temple, which was built in the memory of Sri Bhavanarayana Swamy.
